Who We Are
At Immanuel UMC, we're at the beginning of a journey. This is a congregation who has been present in Ripon, in some capacity, for over 160 years. However, we're looking to start afresh knowing that the way ministry is done today is much different than 20, 30, or 160 years ago.
We invite you on this journey with us, and to join in on something new and unfolding. We're doing our best to grow in God's grace and love, and let others know about this same grace and love that has affected our lives.
In order to do this, we're following the plan that Jesus laid out in his ministry. He invited people to come and learn more about God, taught them through example and discussions, and then sent these changed people out into the world to spread the Gospel message. At Immanuel, God has called us to help others come to KNOW the love of God, GROW in the love of God, and then SHOW others the love of God. This is our mission at Immanuel -- KNOW, GROW, SHOW!
We want Immanuel to be a place where people can get connected with others, be the hands and feet of Jesus, and grow deeper in their faith in God through Jesus. Above all, we want God to be glorified. Instead of just being another club or group in town to be a part of, our hope is to help people truly encounter God and grow in their ability to love God, love and serve others, and live as disciples of Jesus.
Nope, we're not perfect. We have plenty of work to do to get to where God needs us to be in ministry and in our relationship with Him. If this is something you can relate to, you'll fit right in.
Each and every person is loved by God more than they can imagine. You matter to God and you matter to us, so come as you are. If you're currently not active in a church, our faith family is here for you and invites you to join us in discovering what it means to be a disicple of Jesus Christ by coming to KNOW God's love, GROW in God's love, and then going out and SHOWing God's love.
