I hope you are available to join us as we put together an hour performance for the community. We will have four rehearsals starting on Monday, June 16 and end with a performance the following Thursday, June 19. We want you to come even if you can’t be there for every rehearsal. Come find out what it takes to make a Praise Band! No instrument? No problem. We've got you covered. Choose one of these instruments to play: Piano: (playing chords) Drums: (drum set or individual instrument - tambourine, shaker, cowbell) Vocals - Sing and do a little hand movement Acoustic/Electric Guitar: 4 Chords will be taught and played Bass Guitar: Learn 4 notes and rhythms to play What is our purpose? To Know, Grow and Show the love of God through music. We want to provide an environment that promotes kindness and community to teenagers while putting together a youth praise band that will perform for the public on June 19. The program will include songs performed and presented by the students between the ages of 11 - 19 that promote Christian values (kindness, love, acceptance, forgiveness). What: Creating a Summer Youth Christian Rock Band Who: 6th - 12th Grade Students in the Ripon/Green Lake Area Where: Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon (401 W Fond du Lac St.) Rehearsal Schedule: June 16 - 19 (Monday - Thursday) Time: 3:30 - 5:30 TUESDAY NIGHT COMMUITY MEAL offered to students and families from 5:30- 6:00 pm (Families are invited to a FREE COMMUNITY SUPPER starting at 5:00 - 6:00 in the basement of the church) Performance: June 19 (Thursday) Final Performance for the public on June 19 Rehearsal 3:30 - 5:30 on Thursday Eat together from 5:30 - 6:00 Performance at 6:30 Thursday - open to the public. Free event! Ice Cream Social following the concert with the Dairy Barn Cost: FREE! This will be a 4 day event. Each day students will learn various skills: how to play the guitar, drums or keyboard; how to work the tech equipment (lights, computer and the video camera); learning to sing the songs including some movement and harmonies.
